Samsung Galaxy S
I just came back from the store with a brand new Samsung Galaxy S. This is an upgrade from my Samsung Omnia i900. I can say with full authority as someone who deals with mobiles on a daily basis that I love this phone. Smooth reaction times, light weight, huge screen, android marketplace, samsung marketplace, android marketplace (have to mention that twice). Beautiful vibrant colours on the screen. The AMOLED screen is fantastic. I am very happy with what I got.

I got the Galaxy S... a couple months back, I think it was. Loooooooooove this phone. It is awesome. Agree with everything you said. It rocks!
maybe that is what I need to go with. I loved my samsung omnia. Then I got the Omnia 2 and have been disapointed with the camera and video. It has been sluggish. People keep telling me to get the Droid 2 but am really hesitant to getting it. maybe the galaxy would do for me...I don't know.
@alterEGGO - I go the phone with the intent of modifying it to meet whatever I wanted it to be. However, now that I have the phone, there is no need. It met my every requirement out of the box.
With one exception.
This is not the fault of the phone, nor of android, but of samsung. They shipped the phone with a sync software called Kies...totally craptastic. The good thing is the phone is built on Android. So you can pretty much ignore the sync software and just use whatever other program you feel like out there. Personally I recommend just using Winamp. Download the Winamp app to your mobile then connect it to your computer, sync all your music/movies that you like and away you go. No fuss. Love it.
With the Galaxy S you do have to modify the settings in the control panel before you can do that as it defaults to the Kies sync crap, otherwise it worked perfectly.
If I were to give the phone a rating 1 through 10 it definitely would have gotten a 9.
(the omnia i900 that I got would have gotten a 6...that phone pissed me off so much)
